Chilean Earthquake

We have all heard of the recent Chilean Earthquake. A good friend of mine sent me this article today and I had to share it. It touched my heart so deep that I literaly cried the whole way through it. It reminds me how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives and how God prepares people in their own time. It is sad to think that something this emense should have to take place to get people to open their eyes, but I just have to remember that Its a blessing they open their eyes. I am so proud of our Missionaries. I love each and every one of them for what they do for our brothers and sisters.

Please, take the time to read this. I hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

Surgery

Trevin was born with a condition called Hypospadias. I am going to try not to get to graphic, but his Urethra didnt come out the tip, but much lower. To be able to pee straight and to have a better chance and procreating, Trevin had to go in on Monday, February 22, 2010 for corrective surgery. When we first found out he had this problem it was a little concerning, seeing how that we didnt have insurance. We went to the doctors when he was probably a month old and they told us it would cost almost $10,000 to have this corrected. We didnt know how we were going to pay for this. We were Terrified. Luckily we were able to get on Medicaid, and they covered the whole cost. We feel so blessed. We werent to concerned to get it done because they told us that its very common, that its and easy fix, it only takes about a half an hour, and that he doesnt have to have it done until he is over 6 months old. Well time flew by us like we all know it does. The next thing I knew, we were driving to my Grandma Dona's house Sunday night and Monday morning at 8:30 He would be in surgery. We felt so blessed, Devins parents Drove all the way up to Riverton from Elsinore to be at the hospital with us. My parents Drove from Grantsville to be there, and also Devins Sister Marcea came as well. We felt so loved. As we did the routine to get Trevin ready, I was scared because I know he doesnt handle well when he is hungery and he couldnt have anything but water after midnight and nothing after 6:30. As Sunday night went along, we were trying to distract ourselves from what would happen the next morning. We took a nap when we got to My grandma's, then we went to Dinner, and soon off to visit my Aunt and Uncle in Draper. We came home got Trevin to bed, and just as we were settling into bed about to drift off into LaLa Land, I hear a blood curtling Scream. Trevin woke up screaming his head off from what? Im not sure still. It was one of these things. Sleeping in a new place, Scared, Diaper Rash, or wanting a warm Bottle. It took us about 20-30 minutes to get him to stop screaming and crying. I tried a bath I tried a bottle I tried bouncing him, changing his diaper. Anything I could think of. Finally I wamed his bottle and He was okay. Well I finaly get to sleep and I swear I woke up every half and hour thinking did I Sleep through the alarm? Is it time yet? I was getting nervous. We got him to the hospital the next morning and everyone was there. We did the hospital routine, and got him back and as the Anethsesiologist took our son from our arms He was asleep. Trevin opened his eyes one more time to peek at us and went to sleep. As we walked away we tried not to cry. As we went into the waiting room with our family the water works hit us both. It took them almost 2 hours to fix Trevins problem, and told us only one of us could go see him in the recovery room. I jumped up and went, I felt bad afterwards and appologized to Devin. I was just a little jumpy. I walked in and Trevin was laying there batting his hands at the nurses bages. He saw me and instantly started to cry wanting me to hold him. I held him and loved him and make him feel okay. I gave him some glucose water but he was a little upset as most are after surgery. They gave him a second dose of medicine and he seemed to relax. Except when his face was itching from it he just wanted to sleep. They kept us there for longer then20 minutes so Devin was getting nervous. Fianlly He asked the Nurse if he could come back, she came to see what was going on and they were just getting ready to move us and Devin met us back in the new area.He made us a little nervous though in the recovery area, because of his Morphine he wouldnt breath as deep as we needed him to. His oxygen levels would drop periodicly, so we had to stay there for close to 2 hours instead of 1. I passed him to Devin and both of us just wanted to cry, because we knew how important he is in our family. We knew how much we really cared for this little boy. We were over come with joy that he was okay, that everything went okay. The Doctor had told us that He did really well, that they only had one thing surprise them. They said when they put the catheter in that in some parts the skin was so thin that they could read the writting on the catheter. So the cuts had to be bigger. They said that 2/3rds of his penis had a horse shoe cut on it. I know he was in pain, but he was so good. Once they took the bandages off his hand to hold the IV in, he was happy! He just wanted to chew on his hand! We are so blessed each day. We couldnt even imagine what life would be like with out our sweet little boy. Thanks for everyones prayers and wishes for Trevins safty. We love you all! Proud daddy.

Back to the Blogging world

I'm a little behind on blogging recently because Devins Laptop was Crazy slow, so we got it fixed. It took a while but we have it back now. So here are our updates.
I think Trevin looks so cute here. I just couldnt help it. He was just being sweet.
We had Great Grandma Dona's 80th Birthday Party! Look at my Two handsome boys!
We had a Tired Boy on our hands.
Great Grandma Dona and several of her Great Grandchildren!
Trevin Adores his Daddy. He thought it was cool having shaving cream on him self as well.
At Christmas time, we had a Town Christmas Party and Trevin got to sit on Santas Lap. He was tired and a little ornery, but I handed him to Santa and I was surprised. He got a big grin on and just thought it was so cool. Made my day. :D
Christmas Eve, we went to Great Grandma Nona's House and played games and had a lot of fun with cousins and relatives. Trevin didnt know what to think of unwrapping papper. He didnt care to help, so I unwrapped them for him, but when Grandma Nona gave him this monkey the first thing he did was grab it and Kiss it with everything he had. He was so excited.
Also for Christmas He got a light up fish tank. He loves to sit and watch the fish go round and round. Thanks Great Grandma Dona!
Trevin Loves his food. For a while it was more on his face then inside, but he has gotten better lately. Although, He HATES Peaches.
Before church a couple weeks ago, I thought trevin looked so cute I had to take some pictures. Just remember he is the focus in this picture not me. Haha.

Daddy and baby just loving time together.

Trevin Learned to crawl a few weeks ago. He is everywhere. And pulling himself up. I am in trouble now!

You may think I am crazy for putting this picture up, but I think it explains Trevin. He LOVES to make faces at people. I gave him to Grandma Jodi and I took probably half a dozen pictures and each on had a funny face. Everytime I see him, He makes me laugh. He makes my day and he makes my life so special. I love him with all I have. I know how lucky we are to have him, and I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family to care so much about my baby, and my family. We love all of you. Thanks for all you do!

Been a while.

Well lately it has been the craziest times in our house. Since we have been building our house it has taken up a lot of time, and also trying to get things ready to move. To update a little.........

For Thanksgiving we went to my parents house, ate, and spent the night. We sat there and debated should we take the car or truck, which we never do, and I am so thankful we took the truck. On the way there we were probably half an hour away from our destination and the car in front of us had an accident. I believe they did two rolls in their car and it was quite a scary situation. I have never had to help with an accident so the nerves were quite crazy. It really scared us because Trevin was in our truck and seeing that happen right in front of us was quite tramatic. Devin pulled over and ran to the car I called 911 and tried to find the closest mile marker. Not thinking straight, I ran down the road probably half a mile down to the mile marker. On my way I had noticed a sign next to the rail road that was the rail road mile marker, so I told the opperator about that they had found where we were before I could run all the way down there. Just to make sure I still double checked. And of course I did this all in heals. She wanted me to get back so she could ask questions at the car, so I gave the lady Devins Number. Luckily they were just fine. I ended up with blisters on my feet and a little stressed over the ordeal. Once we got in the car Devin was so happy. I couldnt understand and I asked what he delt with and he said that the lady in the car noticed her older son driving was having a hard time and one of the first things she asked was if Devin Held the preisthood. Devin got to give the man a blessing before anyone was on scene. I was so proud of him. It makes me feel so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life. It was a weird situation. If any one knows where Rushvalley is and Vernen was the accident happened between there. There was a total of 5 ambulances there and 3 fire trucks AND 2 Cop cars! So we were covered there. We were a little late and made dinner be delayed a little while but I felt so good that I could help them! Dinner and the weekend was great. We went to black friday shopping at the sears in Tooele and got a dishwasher, range, and a micro hood for killer deals!

For Christmas time, we had way to many parties to go to, but it was a blast. We celebrated Christmas by waking up at 7 and opening presents with Kevin and Cindy! Trevin loved it. We then headed out to my Grandma Dona's house for the party at her house. Then off to Grandma and Grandpa Madsens, then to my sisters for dinner and games, and finally to my parents. It was quite a busy day but well worth it. We were so spoiled this year but loved being with family more than anything. Trevin got a high chair, crinkle book, car seat toys, pajamas, a toy that he can lay under and play with, clothes, and a sound top! He was so happy. Devin loved his GPS that Grandma Dona gave him and all the other things as well. That probably was his favorite little gaget though. I felt blessed to get a necklace from my grandma that is an heirloom now. It has a diamond from one of my grandmas rings. But wow I still felt spoiled by all the rest of my gifts as well.

For the New year we went to Jerrett and Amy's house for our anual New years eve party, playing games and having fun with friends and family!

We should be moving into our house in a couple weeks. It is getting close. I promise I am going to get pictures up its just been quite the past few months.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season. Hope You all loved it as much as I did!

You think I am WHAT? And my son has WHAT???

Recently Trevin has had a bit of a cough and some mucus build up. I have been trying to make sure he is as comfortable as can be. We had to go in on Wednesday to get his second round of shots so while I was there I asked them to make sure he was okay. They Took his tempurature and said he couldnt have his shots because of his tempurature. Poor guy. They told me his lungs were clear and had a little bit of a red ear on the left side and told me to bring him in again on Monday. Well.............This has been my WONDERFUL DAY! First off let me help you understand a bit more. Devin had to go to Hanksville for work this week until Wednesday or Thursday. So I am here to run the roost by myself. I went to the doctor and they took his tempurature, and it was normal, and then his O stats and they were really good too! So I am thinking Finally we can get these shots done with. My doctor, Dixie, came in and listented to his lungs and checked his ears, she looked at me and said "He cant have his Shots today because he Either has Bronchitis or Pneumonia." WONDERFUL!!!!! She said "Take him to the Hospital and get a Chest X-Ray." Now before I left I asked about my Period. Yes our womanly curse. I have been getting my period every two weeks for the past three times. She said You are probably pregnant take a pregnancy Test. CRAP!!! I think I about fainted right then and there. I about cried as I was peeing in this little cup. Thinking How can this happen?? Then I had to go to the Hospital so I didnt get my results yet. As I drove to the hospital I am on my last string. I get there and get him all undressed for his x-ray and they say is there any possible chance you could be pregnant? I had to say YES because heavens sake I just took a pregnancy test 5 minutes previously. they couldnt let me stay in the room to help make my baby okay getting his x-ray. I almost cried as I stood outside helpless. I hate hospitals by the way. Then they brought him back out to me and said WOW he was so good!!! Then everyone in the radiology department surrounded me and did the OH MY GOODNESS HE IS SOOOOO CUTE! I swear I heard "Hes so cute" about 20 times. They send me back to the doctors. They set me in the room and I try to get the attention of the assistant and ask her if I am pregnant and she says it was negative. Wow big Sigh of relief! I sat in that room trying to figure out whats going on and finally FINALLY Dixie came in and said they havent called let me call them. She does and they said PNEUMONIA! HOLY CRAP How am I going to take care of this baby by myself and keep everything going while teaching voice lessons and everything! She Then gave me prescriptions for a nebulizer and an antibiotic. Nebulizer 4 times a day and antibiotic 3 times a day! for 7 yes 7 days. Yay for days you want to just crawl back into bed and sleep rather than run run run run run run like a crazy lady around town. Oh well. Im just glad we found out about his pneumonia in the beginning stages. If he had to go to the hospital I would have been Frantic.

Halloween!

Trunk or Treating
Fell asleep at the carnival

Great Grandma Nona

Beary CUTE!

I Attempted to make all these hats. I think they turned out Pretty good.
Gavin, Alyson, Trevin and Brogun as the Goldilock and the three bears

We recently had our Sister in law Amy take our family photo's. They turned out so darn cute if I do say so myself.

Daddy and his Pal. Future fire fighter is what Devin wants

This has a funny story behind it. Devin was telling Amy about this picture he wanted done to replicate one that Devin had of him and his father. Well we were looking through the photos the other day and found that picture. It wasnt him and his dad it was Derrick and his dad!

I attempted to make these hats for the new babies for Halloween. They were Goldilocks and the Three bears.
